What a weekend for Fat Face Night Surf. Full on conditions on the Saturday saw some dramatic racing with nearly 350 competitors entering. As the day progressed Hayling sea front produced an evil shore break which took many, many prisoners. Non more so than SB who endured a humbling encounter in a Super X heat which resulted in many numerous and painful efforts to get out at very high tide in a dying wind. With the Super X style race well under way SB finally managed to leave the beach and somehow qualified for the semi final. The only saving grace was the power of perseverance and the build quality of the new Tushy Storm 4.7m which took a number of huge drillings in the surf.
The Night Surf was, as ever, a stunning spectacle and great to be part of. Blasting along at night and having to loop brings a new meaning to the term Vision. It's all very well looking, but seeing is another thing entirely! Big thanks to Fat Face and Alan Cross and his fabulous race/event team for putting on such a great weekend.
