First up, the ever energetic multi sporting, super smiley and acrobatic Mai from Norway. She was totally dedicated to making use of every possible ‘rental hour’ and worked ‘the system’ to the full. Putting in the so much extra effort to really push her sailing to another level.
Mai went from ‘flat water improver Freerider’ to….
- Blasting faster on smaller boards.
- Making short board gybes.
- First time launching into waves.
- First time riding a wave.
- Warrior short board tacks.
- Fabulous use of every hour of every day – Go Mai!

Next is Vicki from the UK who was such a vibrant part of the group, always up for everything and despite very limited windsurfing time prior to the trip she ramped it up from her last outing in Bonaire (over a year ago).
Helping her venture out through waves for the first time was amazing to see!
Vicki went from ‘nervous blaster in-out of the straps’ to….
- Blasting faster on smaller boards.
- Launching in shore break & waves.
- Coping with strong winds & staying upwind.
- Cracked waterstarts in the waves – sorted by Kate 🙂
- Overcame wind and wave fear!
