Flat shallow water lagoon with ‘take as you please’ waves on the outside offering an opportunity to sample some great Free-riding, cross shore jumping and the likely hood of classic down the line wave riding (small, medium and large - take your pick).
The concept of the Windwise Discovery Trips is to visit stunning windsurfing locations and create the perfect environment to enjoy and seriously enhance your windsurfing. Under the expert guidance of SB you’ll be indulged in bespoke windsurfing sessions with the highest possible level of coaching. The Discovery trip is a mix of group sailing with similar level sailors, 1-2-1 coaching, video playback, free sail and all the feedback you need to target exactly what makes the difference to your own sailing. I seek to not just coach, but also guide you through the process of sailing in new venues and the Mauritius ‘waves’. As you know, I will use every ounce of energy, patience and persuasion to genuinely enable you to develop your windsurfing. I feel very confident in giving you a fabulous Windwise windsurfing experience. You can take the trip at whatever pace suits you.

TYPICAL COURSE STRUCTURE
Mauritius has a slant towards more experienced intermediates and advanced sailors seeking to master shorter boards and venture into waves (optional). You must be able to waterstart and sail a sub 100L board.

We’ve been to Mauritius since 2007 and it’s a real gem! Easy launching, cross-shore left to right winds and warm water, plus some truly fabulous waves to suit every level.
The Wind & Waves
You can never, ever, guarantee wind AND waves. But in October your chances of wind are pretty good, plus a high chance of swell. Hence the popularity of this winter location. When the trades are in you’d expect to be on sail between 4.5-5.5m. It blows left to right across the beach (Port Tack). Often we’re venturing out on wave boards and with waves from one foot to the famous (out of bounds) often over mast high, One Eye! In previous years we took a veteran sailor into the waves for the first time and they loved it! Equally if you’re experienced in waves, you’ll think you’re in paradise (which you are).
