RAS SUDR mid September gave us a mix of condition. Reasonable wind in the first week, then less reliable for the second week (3 days of wind), but the wind really kicked in for the third. Over the three weeks there was masses of great blasting, high speed gybes, duck gybes, 360's, plus some dodgy games of whiskey poker and the imported Russian disco and beach life made for a entertaining time off the water too!
We then ventured onto MAURITIUS in Oct which turned into a superb trip! Wind and great waves of all shapes, sizes and impact! Apart from a couple of days at the beginning of the trip, each day saw Le Morne provide the ideal playground to enjoy blasting in the bay and easily encounter waves on the reef. We covered everything from wave board uphauling, hovering for and catching waves, flat water and real down the line wave riding and jumping. Everyone left a better sailor for it! Â
We've now just returned from a chilly but fabulously productive trip to NORTH CORNWALLÂ for our annual wave session. As the rest of the UK was freezing and getting dustings of snow, Cornwall (the warmest place in the country over the last week) had reliable NE winds which gave us cross and cross off wave riding at Gwithian four days in a row. Great sessions over the two courses with everyone either relishing or learning to venturing out in real wave conditions! Without the warming hot coffee from the Sunset Cafe at Gwithian we might not of spent quite so much time on the water!Â
