The concept of the Windwise BVI Discovery Trip is to create the perfect environment to explore new windsurfing destinations. Under the guidance of SB you’ll benefit from our unrivalled experience in providing a bespoke windsurfing holiday. The BVI Discovery trip is a mix of sailing, windsurfing and other activities in this superb location. We have a pre-planned itinerary to visit 2-3 windsurfing locations/islands in the BVI - offering you the chance to sail in un-crowded waters from the back of your own Catamaran or nearby beaches. Whilst I will give you some Quick Tips along the way, this trip is more like being a ‘ski guide’ showing you where and how to sail each location and just facilitating running the boat and guiding you round the BVI. It is 99% flat water blasting over crystal clear waters, off idyllic islands.
 
We are totally confident in giving you a Windwise experience that combines a fabulous holiday in a superb location. You can take the trip at whatever pace suits you and we’re sure you’ll find out why so many clients come back for more.

WINDWISE DISCOVERY PRICING
We put together a package depending on numbers involved, so if you are a couple or a small group we can assist you with your holiday. In the past the cost for a 9 day charter has varied from £900 to £1500 per person depending on number in the group and style/size of boat selected.

Your berth on a Lagoon 410 Catamaran (based on 2 people per cabin – single options can be discussed) 

10 Days SB planning/guiding /skippering & basically ensuring you have a fabulous holiday.

Additional Costs
The crew forms a ‘kitty’ to get provisions and food supplies for the trip. Allow a budget of $50-100 (dollars) per day per person depending on how executive your tastes are. It’s your charter so when we provision the boat you can select what you want to eat and how often you want to eat out.
You need to book your own flight and I suggest a local hotel the night prior to the charter on the 10th July. (We help you with this.)
Flight approx £350-600 - or use up those Air Miles?)
Board carriage on airline £0-100 depending on airline - (although the LIAT connecting flight is unpredictable with kit).
Board hire is available – approx $300-350 (dollars) we need to discuss this to see what gear you’d need. This tends to be a mix of HIHO kit and plus Tushy Starboard.

THE CATAMARANS
The Catamarans we use have four double berth cabins, each with their own private ‘head’ (shower/toilet). Full kitchen facilities and plenty of room on board for crew and kit. The Cat would need provisioning on the first morning of the charter and then we would set sail on a magical trip around the islands. You need to share cooking / BBQ duties etc amongst your group and also I’m sure you’ll enjoy learning to crew the boat (each cabin has to be slave for the day so that you all get plenty of time to kick back and relax).
You can eat mostly on the boat, have BBQ’s and plenty of sun downer cocktails, plus you can check out some cool restaurants if you want to. There’s also great snorkelling, (diving, kayaking and fishing available locally) and off course we can just sail where and when we want to on the Cat.  We also have our own dinghy which acts as rescue and water taxi to local bars etc.

WIND & ABILITY
I’ve been to the BVI many times and know the windsurfing locations very well and would expect to get trade winds between 9-20 Knots at this time of year, but it’s mainly Freeride blasting on 5.5-8.5m rigs. So very easy, cruising conditions with flat water and only small rolling swell if you choose to try a small optional blast to an nearby island.
This is perfect for all levels. If you have a partner of friend who would want to come, it’s simply perfect place for them to learn, while you cruise about in your surf shorts over crystal clear waters.

BOARD CHOICE
It is possible to take you own kit or hire. We would need to discuss this in more detail to work out the best option for your group/level.
In the past we’ve been on a range of kit from 5.5m-9m rigs and boards between 100-130L. Easy cruising fun sailing!

FLIGHTS OPTIONS:
Fly UK to Antigua. There are a large number of scheduled airlines and also some charter companies. £350-£600.
Inter island flight Antigua to Tortola in the BVI - ‘LIAT’ Airlines approx cost $100-200 dollars return.
In previous years those who book early have got some great deals or used AIRMILES and it’s easy to book the whole trip with one tour operator.
Some people choose to extend your trip to include a few nights in local BVI hotel either before or after the charter.
You will need to book and pay for you own flights. Once you decide to book we can give you more details.
